Carl Gustav JUNG was one of the most influential PSYCHIATRISTS of the twentieth century, born on July 26, 1875, in Kesswil, Switzerland. He began his career as a close collaborator of Sigmund Freud, but their intellectual friendship eventually fractured over deep theoretical disagreements. Jung believed that the human PSYCHE was far more complex and spiritually rich than Freud was willing to acknowledge. Where Freud focused almost exclusively on sexuality and early childhood trauma, Jung was drawn to MYTHOLOGY, religion, and the broader patterns of human experience. Jung went on to found his own school of thought, which he called ANALYTICAL psychology, a framework that continues to shape therapy, art, and culture to this day.
